Fall Engagement Session in Minneapolis | Maggie + Ty
This engagement session is a prime example of the incredible variety of locations there are to choose from within Minneapolis!
One of the many reasons why I love to photograph engagement sessions in Minneapolis is that there are so many unique and varied settings to work with throughout the city. There’s no better example of this than Maggie and Ty’s engagement session, which you may recognize from a previous blog of mine covering 10 of my favorite locations for engagement photos around the Twin Cities. Maggie and Ty’s session perfectly captures the natural beauty of the city alongside its urban charm.
A Bit About Maggie and Ty
Before we dive head first into Maggie and Ty’s engagement session in Minneapolis, I wanted to take a little time to talk about how these two got here as the two have a pretty awesome proposal story! They started dating back in 2020, and as time would pass it would become more and more apparent that they were meant for one another. Eventually they would plan a trip to Europe together, and this is where Ty would pop the question. Part of their vacation included a trip via sailboat on the Mediterranean.
What Maggie didn’t know is that Ty had reached out to their captain weeks in advance to get him in on the plan. While in the middle of the Mediterranean Ty proposed, and their captain brought them champagne to celebrate after Maggie excitedly replied yes. Making things even more special is the fact that Maggie’s engagement ring is her Grandmother’s ring, which is just the perfect cherry to top off their incredible proposal story. Their wedding is set for August of this year in Stillwater, Minnesota and I could NOT be happier for them!
Ok, now that we know how Maggie and Ty got here let’s get into their engagement session! We started their session in the wonderful Theodore Wirth Park, where we were treated with some fabulous fall colors on the trees. We were also able to include Maggie and Ty’s pup Ollie into the start of their session, which if you know me I am all for. I actually talk in another article of mine about how important it is to include your pets in your engagement session if possible, as it makes the session even more fun and personal.
Both Maggie and Ty have such fun personalities, and the two were giggling throughout the entire session which made them a blast to photograph. After a fair bit of time frolicking around the park together it was time to make our way to Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood for the remainder of their engagement session.
Finishing Their Engagement Session in Minneapolis
Just like Theodore Wirth Park, you may also recognize North Loop from my list of favorite locations for engagement sessions in the Twin Cities. The North Loop neighborhood has such a fun and lively atmosphere to it, even on a cold fall day like the one Maggie and Ty had. Speaking of which, Ty is originally from Florida so by the end of our session his teeth were literally chattering from the cold. I felt so bad, but he was a total trooper through it all! It was totally worth it too, as the photos we got in the North Loop Minneapolis are some of my favorites of their engagement session. Between the classic brick walls, the gorgeous fall colors, and Maggie and Ty’s simple yet classy outfits, there was just so much to love.
Thanks for coming along with me to relive one of my favorite engagement sessions I’ve photographed in Minneapolis. Maggie and Ty are a truly wonderful and genuine couple, and documenting their love was a blast from start to finish.
