Engagement Session at the Indeed Brewery in Minneapolis | Katie + Joe

There's no better way to end a chilly engagement session in Minneapolis than by heading to one of the local craft breweries for the final photos!

Documenting Katie and Joe’s engagement session during one of the coldest months of the year really shows some of the best Minneapolis has to offer for a winter engagement session. From the fresh snowfall, the scenic views of the city, and finally a quick stop at one of Minneapolis’ awesome breweries, there’s so much to love about Katie and Joe’s session. That’s not to say their session was a walk in the park though, as you’ll soon see!

Minneapolis Winter Engagement Photos

Being from Minnesota, we are generally pretty tough when it comes to cold weather, but I do have to say, the day of Katie and Joe’s engagement session was so fricken cold.  So much so that we actually had to stop part way through the session and take a break to warm up!  To help keep warm during your winter engagement session I always suggest some electric hand warmers. They come in handy for keeping your digits warm throughout the session, and you’ll have them for future winters. You can also get single use hand warmers and tuck them all throughout your outfit to really keep you cozy!

Another thing I love for winter engagement sessions is that my couples have multiple layers as parts to their outfits. A cute winter pea coat or wool trench coat paired with a fun winter scarf makes for a great addition to your outfits. For Katie and Joe’s session for example we explored Minneapolis in their heavy winter gear and then popped the coats off once we made it to the Indeed Brewery for the remainder of their session. You may recall that a local brewery is one of my favorite locations for engagement photos in the Twin Cities, and soon you’ll see why!

One of the best ways to get a lot of variety in your engagement photos is to have multiple locations to go to throughout your session.  When planning a winter engagement session, I love having an indoor location paired with an outdoor location to give your session two completely different feels, and to give my couples a break from the cold. When Katie and Joe let me know that they LOVE spending their weekends at local breweries, I knew we had to include that in their session!  After taking photos at the Stone Arch Bridge we headed over to the Indeed Brewery in North East Minneapolis to finish up their session snuggled up and sipping some great craft beers.

Cold weather and all, I still had so much fun with Katie and Joe during their engagement session in Minneapolis! These two were a couple of troopers, and though the album speaks for itself here it is safe to say that we were all glad to have toughed out the frigid temps to get these photos.
