Classic Wedding at The Loft at Studio J in Stillwater, MN | Maggie + Ty

The Loft at Studio J in Stillwater, Minnesota was the perfect space for Maggie and Ty to celebrate their simple yet emotional wedding day!

I had been looking forward to Maggie and Ty’s wedding day for a while, and if you’ve seen my article about their engagement session you probably felt similar! These two are a literal power couple, as Maggie's a lawyer and Ty is a doctor, but even so they are still some of the sweetest, most fun, and down to earth couples I’ve had the honor of documenting. Their minimal wedding at The Loft at Studio J in Stillwater, Minnesota was everything they dreamt it would be, and I’m so excited to share the highlights here with you now!

Getting Ready for Their Wedding at The Loft at Studio J

One of the many aspects of Maggie and Ty’s wedding day that I’m in love with is how they made it a priority to include the ones they love into every part of their day. This intention was clear as soon as the wedding day began, as both Maggie and Ty had THE best time getting ready with their friends. Making an extra special appearance was Maggie and Ty’s pup, who was present while Maggie got ready at the Lora Hotel. Once the two were dressed and looking absolutely fabulous in their wedding day attire, we met up at The Loft at Studio J for their first look. This was easily one of the most emotional moments of the day, as both Maggie and Ty needed a moment to regroup from the tears!

After catching our breath, and taking some couples portraits in the venue, we headed down to the shore of the St Croix River for some portraits with their wedding parties. It was smiles and laughs all around, a clear sign as to how much this day meant to everyone in attendance!

Their Classic Indoor Wedding Ceremony

I’m going to be honest, I usually try not to get too emotional while documenting my weddings, but Maggie and Ty’s day really got me a few times! Their day was just so pure and fueled with the most heartfelt love, it was impossible not to get swept up in the emotion. I wasn’t the only one feeling this way either, as throughout their ceremony different friends and family members had to wipe the happy tears from their eyes. With loved ones like this, in a place as gorgeous as The Loft at Studio J, it’s impossible to imagine a more perfect day for Maggie and Ty to share their vows and say their I Do’s to one another. As the two made their exit, the last of the happy tears were shed, and it was time to get the celebration underway!

Epic Wedding Reception in The Loft at Studio J

Next up was the cocktail hour and reception for Maggie and Ty’s wedding. Cocktail hour was a blast, but it seemed to fly by, and before long it was time for the reception to officially begin. So, I may have lied a little bit about the happy tears being over for the day! While the reception was full of many fun, lighthearted moments, there were also multiple points that brought the tears rushing back for everyone. Whether it be Maggie’s father’s tear jerker of a toast, or Ty’s first dance with his mother, the afternoon was the most beautiful rollercoaster of emotions. Maggie and Ty spent the rest of the night dancing their hearts out with their favorite people inside The Loft at Studio J, an epic ending to an absolutely magical day!
